Architecture in the Wild: Exploring Susan B. Anthony’s Neighborhood (YUP Brainery Class)
August 25, 2022 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Love old buildings but don’t know a Queen Anne from a Dutch Colonial? The Landmark Society’s Young Urban Preservationists (YUPs for short) will take you out onto the streets to explore Rochester’s architectural history in its natural setting. In this two-hour outdoor class, we’ll walk Main Street and the Susan B. Anthony neighborhood and learn the names of important architectural styles; basic architectural terminology; and how to approximately date the buildings you see every day.
If you’ve attended the Crash Course in American Architectural History classes, this is a great opportunity to put your new knowledge to the test out in the field! (Also great for beginners.)

Instructors are members of the Young Urban Preservationists, an affiliate group of The Landmark Society of Western New York. The YUPs are an emerging generation of preservationists in the greater Rochester region dedicated to promoting inclusive, modern, and innovative preservation practices to help revitalize communities and our built environment. And we have fun doing it!
