The Landmark Society presented our annual Preservation Awards at a ceremony at the Rochester Academy of Medicine on Sunday afternoon. Awards were presented to twelve projects, buildings, and individuals that have contributed to historic preservation in the region. Honorees included sites in Monroe, Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming County. Awards were presented by members of The Landmark Society’s Preservation Awards Committee, who meet throughout the spring and summer months to visit nominated sites and discuss potential awards. For the first time in awards program history, our committee recognized two projects that involved building relocations with Special Citations. Our most prestigious honor, the Barber Conable Award, was presented to the developers of Sibley Square in downtown Rochester. Thank you to our presenting sponsor, The Innovating Edge. |

Tickets on sale through November 16th! This year’s Landmark Society Annual Jubilee will take place at Rochester’s only Boutique Urban Inn, The Inn on Broadway, located at 26 Broadway on Friday, December 1st, 6pm. Designed by architect Leon Stern, The Inn on Broadway was originally built in 1929 as the third location for the University Club of Rochester. The building has since been beautifully restored into the Inn as it stands today. A 25-room Urban Inn where modern luxury meets historic charm is surely a tribute to the city’s prestigious history that exudes the glamour and grandeur of the Flower City. As in past years, the Jubilee will offer an assortment of silent auction experiences to bid on, hors d’ oeuvres, plated dinner and dessert provided by Tournedos, which has become Rochester’s premier steakhouse. The evening’s live musical entertainment will feature The Bob Sneider Trio with accomplished guest flutist and Landmark Society Trustee, Tim Forster, and world class singer Madeline Forster. Don’t miss this special event to celebrate with us! |
