Did you know that about 30% of Victor’s barns have been lost in the past 20 years?
In 2023, The Landmark Society will work to conduct a survey of all of the barns in the Town of Victor. The goal of the project is to document the Town’s historic barns; to produce a written report that outlines historic context for agriculture in Victor; to analyze different barn types in the area; to develop and explain barn styles and typologies; and to provide recommendations to increase community awareness and preservation of Victor’s barns.
To kick off this process, Landmark Society staff led a public meeting at Victor Town Hall on Wednesday, January 18th. Barn owners who attended the meeting learned more about the barn survey project and other activities to be held as part of the Town’s “Celebration of Barns” throughout 2023. The public meeting was recorded and is available to watch below.
