Preservation Boards & Commissions Workshop

March 27, 2012 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Free

Please join us for another evening of networking & learning at the Spring 2012  Preservation Boards & Commissions Workshop.

Topic: Cultural Landscapes 101: Types, Terminology, & History
Presented by Edward Olinger, PLA, FASLA
Cultural landscapes–cemeteries, gardens, parks, squares, farmland, estates, college campuses, scenic highways and more–are found in rural, suburban, and urban communities throughout our region. Although landscapes can sometimes be overlooked in preservation discussions, they are just as important a part of the built environment as historic buildings and structures. Landscape architect, Edward Olinger, will present an introduction to cultural landscapes.

Location:
171 Reservoir Ave.
Highland Park, Rochester NY
The Olmsted Lodge is located at the front of the Parks Office Building, across the street from the Lamberton Conservatory. Parking is available on-street and behind the building.

Schedule:
