SOLD OUT: Architecture in the Wild: Exploring the South Wedge’s Architectural History (YUP Brainery Class)

May 25, 2022 @ 6:15 PM - 8:15 PM

Join the Landmark Society’s Young Urban Preservationists (YUPs) in exploring Rochester’s architectural history in its natural setting! In this two hour outdoor class, students walk the South Wedge neighborhood, tracing the city’s architectural evolution from the early 19th through the early 20th century. Students will also learn the names of important architectural styles, basic architectural terminology, and how to approximately date the buildings so often seen.

Instructors are members of the Young Urban Preservationists, an affiliate group of The Landmark Society of Western New York. The YUPs are an emerging generation of preservationists in the greater Rochester region dedicated to promoting inclusive, modern, and innovative preservation practices to help revitalize communities and our built environment. And we have fun doing it!
