Architecture in the Wild: Exploring Downtown’s Architectural History (YUP Brainery Class)

For the first time, The Landmark Society’s Young Urban Preservationists are taking their popular walking tour downtown to explore Rochester’s civic and commercial architecture. Participants will observe downtown buildings in their natural setting as they learn the names of important architectural styles, basic architectural terminology, and how to approximately date the buildings we see every day.

Instructors are members of the Young Urban Preservationists, an affiliate group of The Landmark Society of Western New York. The YUPs are an emerging generation of preservationists in the greater Rochester region dedicated to promoting inclusive, modern, and innovative preservation practices to help revitalize communities and our built environment. And we have fun doing it!
