REMINDER: Please take the YUP survey!

It’s been awhile since you’ve heard from us…we’ve been busy recovering from a summer of activities and gearing up for a strategic planning process. As we begin that process, we’d love to hear from YOU. We hope that you’ll take five minutes or less to complete a short, 9 question survey. Whether you’ve never been to a YUP event, you’re a die-hard member, or you’ve decided you’re not interested in the group, your feedback is valuable and important to us. Thank you!

Heart Bombing: Save the date(s)

Even though we’re only a week into January, Valentines Day is on the horizon so the YUPs are planning how we’re going to show our love for old buildings in need of some TLC. Along with other young preservationist groups across the Rust Belt, we’ll pick a day near February 14th to get crafty and make valentines for our beloved old buildings. This year, we’re planning to partner with the Susan B. Anthony Neighborhood Association to show some love, once again, to the long-vacant home at 6 Madison St. As usual, we’re aiming to bring kids into the mix and teach them why old buildings matter in their community. We haven’t settled on a date just yet so stay tuned.

Want to get involved? We need:

  • suggestions for other vacant or under-loved sites to heart bomb
  • crafty folks to help make heart-shaped cardboard or wood cutouts in advance
  • volunteers to help plan logistics
  • a photographer day-of
  • anyone who loves old buildings!
