Public Performance of Walk the Walk: Encounters with Rochester’s African American Ancestors
Over 1600 children will experience Walk the Walk this week. Friday evening, it’s your turn to connect with Rochester’s African American ancestors. Come join us as they return to the city they made home to entertain, educate and inspire. This one public performance of Walk the Walk is FREE and will take place Friday evening, February 8th at 7 PM at Mount Olivet Baptist Church, 141 Adams Street, Rochester. Preservation Grant Fund awards announced
In our third round of funding during the first year of this exciting program, we are pleased to announce the following grant recipients:
- $1000 to the Victor Historical Society to fund a conditions report for the Valentown Hall in Victor
- $1500 to the Elim Bible Institute to fund a conditions report and structural analysis on the 1849 College Hall roof
- $3000 to the Town of Burns to fund an architectural/feasibility study of the former Kingston Hotel in the village of Canaseraga
The Preservation Grant Program offers funds earmarked for preliminary design and planning studies to help make positive improvements to at-risk buildings. Click here to learn more about this program.
Grants through the Preservation League of New York State
The Preservation League of New York State has just announced that applications and guidelines are now available for their two grant programs: Technical Assistance Grants (TAG) and Preserve New York Grants for not-for-profits and municipalities.
