Thank you for joining us at the Rochester Pride Parade!

Did you see us at Rochester’s Pride Parade?  We were the ones in the vintage Volkswagen dubbed “The Thing” by owners John Strawway and Mark Chaplin.  If you happened to get a photo of our group, we’d love to see it! You can email it to btimmons@landmarksociety.org or share it through our Facebook or Instagram (@landmarksociety)

Landmark Travels - Perry and Pike Summer Day Trip

We have one more summer day trip planned for August: Perry and Pike on Thursday, August 17th (note date correction!)

We’ll take a small group south to visit Perry and discover the strides this charming village has made in preservation, while becoming a hub for independent artists. We’ll enjoy lunch and tour the Silver Lake Institute and Epworth Hall. This unique site started as a religious revival camp and is now a summer community of late 19th century cottages and historic buildings from its religious revival days, situated on the shore of Silver Lake.

Then for something completely different, we’ll end with a late afternoon at the Wyoming County Fair – on the Pike Fairgrounds, one of the last 19th century rural county fairgrounds remaining in New York State. Here you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time to a classic country fair. We’ll view the livestock, agricultural and art exhibits in the vintage structures, and indulge in your favorite fair food – perhaps even their famous chicken barbeque! We’ll cap the evening with the draft horse and pony competition – or maybe the local talent contest, before returning to Rochester mid-evening.

Visit the link below for all the details and a reservation form.

And don’t forget, there are still spots available on our Gems of Eastern Europe cruise on the Eastern Danube in October. Join us for a 12-day trip (October 4-15, 2023) aboard a luxurious Emerald Cruises StarShip.  Visit five distinctive countries: Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania with expert guides and personal attention. Rates for the Gems of Eastern Europe tour start at $6,645 per person, depending on cabin selected.

Guests are encouraged to drive their collector cars so all attendees can enjoy them in the parking area.
