OCTavern Festival - This Saturday!

OCTavern Festival is this Saturday!

Don’t miss your once-a-year chance to dine and drink inside Monroe County’s oldest tavern! The second annual OCTavern Festival, presented by Java’s, will take place at the Stone-Tolan Historic Site in Brighton, New York. On Saturday, October 15th, the house and its 215-year-old rural tavern will host small groups of guests who will enjoy live music, cider, beer, and seasonal fare. Reserved seatings at 12 PM, 2 PM, 4 PM, and 6 PM include your choice of a delicious seasonal soup (including a special Stone-Tolan soup created for the occasion!).  A special 8 PM candlelight seating includes your choice of four different desserts including a vintage chunky apple cake with butterscotch sauce and whipped cream.  Vegan and gluten free options are available, and all reservations include snacks for the table, your first round of beer or cider, and a souvenir Rohrbach Brewing Company glass to take home.

We’ll also have a site-wide celebration on the grounds from 11 AM to 5 PM, with food and artisan vendors, plus a beer tent, lawn games, and a live band!  Our garden volunteers will be on hand to show off our prolific kitchen garden and will have plants for sale.  Petit Poutinerie will also be there from 12pm to 2pm!

The proceeds from OCTavern Festival help support The Landmark Society’s Windows Workforce Initiative, which provides hands-on-training in historic window repair to individuals in our community.

Thanks for attending Cocktails & Carburetors!

Thank you so much to the sponsors, volunteers, staff, committee, and attendees who made this year’s Cocktails & Carburetors the most successful yet!  We are especially grateful to Jim Swetman, who opened up his business, FLX Auto Storage, for the party. We enjoyed great music by Mystic Stew, fabulous catering, and a great silent auction.  If you didn’t make it this year, keep an eye out for dates next year!

Get your tickets for The Landmark Society's Annual Jubilee!

Tickets sales are open for this year’s Jubilee, which will take place on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the historic Wilder Room on East Avenue. This beautiful space, named after former Rochester Mayor, A. Carter Wilder, was a twentieth century hot spot for the affluent members of the city’s society. Once the residence of Mayor Wilder, East End’s Rochester Club was established in 1860. The exclusive club was membership-based and known for its glamorous private events. In 1911 the Club was renovated to include a grand ballroom lit by 4 crystal chandeliers, still there to admire at this year’s Jubilee. This year’s event will have live entertainment, a full bar, delicious hors d’oeuvres, a plated dinner, and exciting silent auction experiences.
