Upcoming Workshop: Saving Our Small Towns & Villages

The Village of Lima was recently selected to host a community design workshop as part of the Citizens’ Institute on Rural Design (CIRD), a national program sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The Landmark Society is partnering with the Rochester Regional Community Design Center (RRCDC) and the Town and Village of Lima to organize this workshop. The Workshop aims to help local residents of the region, decision makers, and organizations gain the tools, knowledge, and skills to address and implement solutions to these design challenges making our communities better places to live, work, and play. We invite you to attend this series of important events! Heirloom Apple Picking Days at Stone-Tolan

Pick your own heirloom apples at The Stone-Tolan House Historic Site at 2370 East Ave, Rochester. We’re offering free admission to the house, barn and kitchen garden during the apple picking event. Apples in the orchard include Northern Spy (best for pie-baking), Roxbury Russet, Rhode Island Greening, Fall Pippin, Fameuse, Thompkins King and Westfield Seek–No-Further. Apple tasting will be held in the historic barn.  A minimum donation of $5 a bag is requested for picking.  Bags will be provided and The Landmark Society reserves the right to limit the number of bags.
