Celebrate City Living is your resource for learning about Rochester living and city housing. The Rochester Coalition for Neighborhood Living continually strives to be a comprehensive and clear resource for people anywhere along the spectrum of interest in city living. Anchored by the CelebrateCityLiving.com web site, the Coalition also:
- Promotes City living through the annual Celebrate City Living Expo, an informational and fun housing event, designed to give participants a taste of all the things that Rochester living provides. In 2016 it was held on Saturday, April 16, at City Hall. Housing providers, realtors, and lenders attended, but also furniture stores, food vendors, neighborhood and school advocates and more. Among other things, people talked with elected officials, picked up information on R-center activities, attended one of several workshops, brought home a free book from the library, and met with neighborhood advocates. Expo 2017, scheduled for Saturday April 1, 2017 promises to be even bigger and better – Save the date!
- Did you miss the Housing Expo? We celebrate different neighborhoods a few times a year, brought to you by Canandaigua National Bank. Our most recent stop: Charlotte! June 25, 2016, at the newly updated Port of Rochester. Housing providers, local businesses, an impromptu seated Zumba class, all under the shadow of the Tall Ship Andalusia! Coming up, re:Main at Metropolitan Park on Saturday, October 1. Tactical urbanism, Books by Bike, food/drinks, music, a dance party…you don’t want to miss it!
- Posts the HomeWork home-of-the-week column in CITY Newspaper, a publication with a circulation of over 100,000 that is available weekly at over 900 locations around Greater Rochester. Written by knowledgeable volunteers through a partnership with The Landmark Society, it’s a great way to get a tour of an amazing house without leaving your couch.
