YUPs present: Bikes, Beers & Buildings 2018
Rochester’s first bike scavenger hunt is back for its 5th year! Grab your bikes, your smart phone, a few friends and join the Young Urban Preservationists (or YUPs—a group of The Landmark Society) for a fun-filled ride around the city, followed by a few well-deserved drinks at Fifth Frame Brewing. You’ll see some of Rochester’s best known gems and little known secrets, you’ll get some exercise, and you might even learn something new about the Flower City.

LGBTQ Historic Walking Tour
Our Western New York LGBTQ Historic Sites committee is planning a tour of key center city sites in the early LGBTQ movement, including Rochester’s City Hall, the Rochester Federal BuiIding & Genesee Crossroads Park, and Two Saints Church (St. Lukes/St. Simons), to take place during Rochester Pride Week 2018.
The tour will begin at City Hall – parking is available in the City Hall Parking Lot.

2019 Cuba Tour information session
March 2019 will see The Landmark Society’s third travel tour to Cuba, and it is going to be better than ever! On each of our past two trips, we learned more about the likes and needs of our guests; because we used that information in designing this trip, the tour is appropriately called “Third Time is a Charm”.

Preservation Grant Fund application deadline July 31st
The Landmark Society’s Preservation Grant Fund program offers funds for preliminary design and planning studies to help make positive improvements to at-risk buildings. The grant does not fund bricks and mortar repairs. The program was initially funded through a bequest from Elizabeth (Libby) Stewart. Libby was a longtime Landmark Society staff member who was dedicated to the revitalization of neighborhoods and historic structures. Applications are now available for the next round of funding. The application deadline is July 31, 2018. Visit our website to learn more.
