Spring Partners Roundup: The Next Generation
The 2014 Spring Partners Roundup will take place Tuesday, March 10th at The Landmark Society’s offices. The Partners Roundup is an opportunity for community advocates and preservation partners from around the region to gather and share their communities’ or organizations’ challenges and successes. The formal portion of the program will feature a panel discussion with The Landmark Society’s Young Urban Preservationists, Landmark staff, and other young professionals who are active in their communities.
If your community or organization has struggled to engage the next generation, come armed with your questions—we’ll have an amazing panel on hand to brainstorm ideas and provide examples and inspiration!

Announcing 2nd round 2014-15 grant recipients
The Landmark Society’s Preservation Grant Fund committee recently awarded a second round of grants for the 2014-15 fiscal year. The Preservation Grant Fund provides resources for preliminary design and planning studies to help make positive improvements to at-risk buildings. Awards have been earmarked for the following sites:
- A $2,500 grant to the Citizens Advocating Memorial Preservation (CAMP) a local citizen group formed to stop plans to demolish The Cattaraugus County Memorial & Historical Building in Little Valley, NY.
- A $1500 grant to the Lyons Main Street Program (LMSP), a designated Main Street program in the Western Erie Canal Alliance (WECA) Main Street Program.

Heart Bombing in Brockport
Our friends at Pro-Brockport will be bringing some much needed love to one of our 2014 Five to Revive properties, the former stone warehouse at 60 Clinton St. Invented and championed by Buffalo’s Young Preservationists, “heart bombing” has become a popular way for preservationists across the nation to show their love for neglected historic buildings. You can make this Five to Revive your valentine too–break out the pink construction paper, the glitter, crayons, you name it, and snap a photo of yourself and your valentine creation. >>Visit Pro-Brockport’s website for details.
