Bikes Beer & Buildings: Rochester’s First Bike Scavenger Hunt!

YUP-BBB-poster-002-small

Grab your bikes, your smart phone, a few friends and join the Young Urban Preservationists (or YUPs—a group of The Landmark Society) for Rochester’s first bike scavenger hunt, followed by a few well-deserved drinks at LUX Bar & Lounge. You’ll see some of Rochester’s best known gems and little known secrets, you’ll get some exercise, and you might even learn something new about the Flower City.

Saturday, July 12th | Meet @ Star Alley (662 South Ave. in the S. Wedge) at 12:30 PM | Teams of 1-4 | $5/person | First beer (after the hunt) is on us!

Volunteer writers wanted

HW_06-04-14If you’re an avid reader of CITY Newspaper, then chances are one of the first things you do when you pick up your weekly copy is flip to the back to see the week’s featured HomeWork column house. The HomeWork column is a cooperative project between CITY Newspaper and The Landmark Society’s Rochester City Living program. Designed to promote the many benefits of city living and showcase Rochester’s historic neighborhoods and housing stock, the column is brought to you each week by a dedicated team of volunteer writers. And we’re looking to add to that team! Whether you fancy yourself a writer or not, we’d love to have you. All that’s required is a love of Rochester and an interest in old houses. If hitting up open houses is one of your favorite weekend activities, this is the volunteer job for you! Email column coordinator, Caitlin Meives, to learn more.
