New York Statewide Preservation Conference

2015Conf_withdates_small

The Statewide Preservation Conference will take place April 16-18 in Geneva. Wondering if the Conference is for you? We bet it is. Unlike a lot of Conferences, the New York Statewide Preservation Conference is NOT just for professionals. Typical attendees include: grassroots preservationists, community advocates, neighborhood leaders, architects (CES credits will be available), landscape architects, planners, mayors, municipal board members, historic property owners, students, and non-profit organizations. If you’re working—in any capacity—to revitalize your community, this event is for you!

Even if you can’t make the whole event, swing on down to Geneva Thursday evening, April 16th for the Conference film and the Geneva Pub Crawl. Tickets for the film and pub crawl are just $10 and the first 25 registrants for the crawl get a free t-shirt!

>>Check out The Landmark Society’s website for details and the full schedule.

Old House Hacks is back at The Brainery

OHH

Old House Hacks: Wait! No! Stop!

We’ll be presenting our second installment in the Old House Hacks series at the Brainery on Wednesday, April 29th.

Updating and renovating your old house can be a challenging and often rewarding endeavor, but where do you start? How do you strike that perfect balance between old and new without losing the charm or sacrificing modern convenience? Where do you get the best return on your investment, while avoiding changes that are detrimental to you house and your pocket book in the long run? Old House Hacks has the answers to these – and more – burning questions. The Young Urban Preservationists’ Old House Hacks series will show you how, with a little patience. consideration, and elbow grease, you can DIY your way to a comfortable and beautiful historic home that works in the 21st century. We’ll also give you some pointers for knowing when it is time to call in the professionals. >>Reserve your spot now.
