The Young Urban Preservationists (YUPs) are holding an open meeting Tuesday, September 9th, 6:00 PM at the The Landmark Society of Western New York, Inc. offices (133 S. Fitzhugh St.) and all youngish folks from various walks of life and professions who are interested in preservation and community revitalization are invited!

Kickoff Party for YUPs at Inside Downtown Tour

Join us for the #InsideDowntown YUP kickoff cocktail party Friday, September 12, 5:00-7:00 pm in a private apartment in The Sagamore. Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before visiting Tour sites up until 8:30 pm, or return for the Saturday, September 13th Tour hours of 11 am to 4 pm.

ROC360: Guided tour of downtown Rochester ends 300 feet above street level at CloudSmartz Inc.

Take a tour of downtown Rochester – the buildings in transition and a look at its new beginning – during ROC360, a guided walking tour sponsored by IT services company CloudSmartz Inc., the Democrat and Chronicle’s RocNext section, The Landmark Society’s Young Urban Preservationists, and the RDDC.

Guided tours begin at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Democrat and Chronicle, 55 Exchange Blvd., will loop around various sections of the city’s center, highlight some of the buildings under redevelopment and local history, and will end on the 21st floor of the First Federal Building, the home of CloudSmartz for a reception, networking and cocktails. The final tour will leave from the Democrat and Chronicle at 6 p.m.

Visitors will be encouraged to bring their smartphones, take pictures along various routes in the city and post to Instagram and Twitter using the #ROC360 hashtag. These photos may be used for an online gallery at the Democrat and Chronicle.
