GeneseeValleyPark_Bridge__small_07-20-15_05

It’s another Bash on the Bridge! This time on one of the pedestrian bridges spanning the Erie Canal in Genesee Valley Park. Join us and our friends at the Preservation League of New York State as we celebrate these remarkable pedestrian bridges, listed on our Five to Revive and the League’s Seven to Save.

It’s a family friendly event; all are welcome! We’ll have live music, lawn games, drinks and light refreshments. Bring a blanket, chair, or your own games. Short, guided walking tours of the Park and the handsome concrete arch bridges, built in 1916 and 1919 and designed by the influential Olmsted Brothers firm, will depart at 6:45 p.m. Rain or shine! The event is free but registration is required. >>Click here to RSVP.

WHERE THE #&@% AM I? Kickoff Party at Cure

Coaster-slider

The Landmark Society and the Young Urban Preservationists present WHERE THE #&@% AM I?™ Kickoff Party at Cure on Wednesday, August 5th. WHERE THE #&@% AM I?™ is a network of historic bars, pubs, and local watering holes. The buildings that they inhabit have lived many lives and have many untold stories to tell. WHERE THE #&@% AM I?™ connects you, the patron, to these places and to a sampling of their stories. It’s not a history lesson; it’s a random amalgamation of titillating tidbits; a series of snippets; a window onto the power of change.

Join us for a casual kickoff party on Wednesday, August 5th outside Cure at the Public Market. Tickets are $20 and include a drink and snacks. >>Click here for tickets.
