July 12th, 2017 marks The Landmark Society’s 80th Anniversary. That’s 8 decades / 960 months / 4,174 weeks / 29,220 days / 701,280 hours / 42,076,800 minutes / or 2,524,608,00 seconds dedicated to protecting the unique architectural heritage of our region and promoting preservation and planning practices that foster healthy, livable, and sustainable communities. Now that’s something to celebrate!

So let’s do it: our 80th Anniversary Gala Fundraiser will take place at one of Rochester’s oldest downtown hotels, the Holiday Inn Downtown, on Saturday, September 9th, 2017. The evening will commence at 6 p.m. with entertainment, a silent auction & paddle call, delicious hors d’oeuvres and an open bar. Dinner, guest speaker Mr. Jim Turner, and dancing will follow.

Guest speaker Jim Turner is a preservationist, entrepreneur, and highly skilled tradesman. From giving historic restoration presentations and workshops, to helping with reconstruction in Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina, to more recently working in Kentucky where he runs a new historic restoration trades program, Mr. Turner embodies the preservation work we champion at The Landmark Society.

The evening’s music entertainment will feature The University of Rochester Midnight Ramblers and Disc Jockey Jerry Falzone.
